Homes is a private site for a handful of named people. It is not a product, it has no customers, and it exists to look at Bay Area home sales.
What we store about you
We ask Google only who you are: no contacts, no calendar, no Drive, no access to your mail. What that gives us, and what we keep, is:
- Your name, email address and profile picture URL.
- Your Google account id, and the sign-in tokens Google issues with it. Nothing here ever calls a Google API, so the tokens go unused; they are encrypted in our database.
- One record per sign-in so you stay signed in, holding its expiry along with the IP address and browser the sign-in came from. Those last two are how the sign-in endpoints tell a person from a flood of requests.
Why we store it
To tell who you are and to check your address against a short list of people allowed in. Nobody off that list gets an account.
Who else sees it
Nobody. We do not sell it, share it, or send it anywhere. There is no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking on this site. The data sits in our own database, hosted with Neon in the United States, and the site runs on Vercel.
Two things your browser does fetch from elsewhere as you use the site: your profile picture from Google, and, for listings whose photos we never copied, the photos themselves from Redfin's image servers. Those hosts see your IP address the way any site you visit would. We send them nothing about you.
How long we keep it
Until you ask us to delete it. Email the address below and we will remove your account, its sessions and the tokens above. Losing access does not do that by itself: taking an address off the list stops you signing in but leaves the record alone, so ask if you want it gone.
The listings themselves
Property information comes from public records and real estate listing feeds by way of Redfin. It is not about you and it is not derived from anything you do here.
